Beach Clean Ups

Enjoy our South Bay beaches while keeping it clean from trash before it reaches the ocean.
Come surf, make sandcastles, throw frisbees, play vollyball, jam to some tunes, chill out... get involved, and mingle with other ocean minded people. Enjoy our South Bay beaches while keeping it clean from trash before it reaches the ocean. Frolic in the sand without all the cigarette butts and plastic, which can often be eaten by sea animals who mistake it for food. Beach Cleanups are a great way for friends and families to easily get involved with keeping our beaches, ocean, and waves healthy. It is also a way to publicly show that we are an environment friendly community to the many people who frequently visit our beaches.
The Surfrider South Bay conducts Beach Cleanups 6 or more times per year. Our region extends from Ballona Creek south to Cabrillo Beach, and we try to get to each beach at least once during the year. Please see visit our calendar for details of the next Beach Cleanup event and help us keep our ocean, beaches, and waves clean and healthy, all you have to do is show up! (AND BRING A FRIEND!)
We provide the gloves, bags, hand sanitizer, water and other essentials (please bring re-usable gloves and water bottles if possible). If you, your business or school group would like to coordinate a cleanup at your favorite beach on a day other than our Saturday cleanups, we would love to help! Our past, present and future successes wouldn't be possible without the time, commitment and power of our members and volunteers. Staffing a beach cleanup is one of the best ways to get to know other active members. To get involved, click on (the button to the lower left), check the activities you are interested in, and our Volunteer Coordinator will get in touch with you. Thanks for participating!
