Surfrider South Bay and Heal the Bay teamed up to deliver a clear message to Hermosa Beach voters to Vote No on Measure O, on March 3, 2015, with a major victory win of 79.5% opposed to 20.5% in favor! We ran a series of six newspaper ads in the two most read local weekly newspapers, the Easy Reader (http://www.easyreadernews.com/), and The Beach Reporter (http://tbrnews.com/), and delivered two postcards directly to registered Hermosa Beach voters. Posted below are copies of these ads and direct mail pieces.

Hands Across the Sand in Hermosa Beach...

These folks had something smart to say: Keep Hermosa hermosa! By opposing new oil drilling in Hermosa Beach, friends and neighbors rallied in support of Surfrider's Not The Answer campaign and the Hands Across the Sand event - no new oil drilling helps to ensure an oil-free beach and ocean, and is one very effective way to Keep Hermosa hermosa! (Hermosa is the Spanish word for beautiful or gorgeous.) [2014 photo courtesy John Wayne Miller]
